Bacon Avocado Cheese Sandwich

This delightful sandwich combines crispy bacon, creamy avocado, a perfectly cooked egg, and gooey melted cheese between two slices of golden, toasted bread. The air fryer makes it super easy to prepare, offering a crispy yet tender sandwich in minutes.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 4 slices of bread (your choice, e.g., sourdough or whole wheat)
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 slices of cheese (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: a pinch of red chili flakes or herbs like basil or parsley for flavor.

Instructions

  1. Cook the Eggs
    • Heat a small nonstick pan or use an air fryer-safe ramekin. Crack an egg and cook it sunny-side-up, scrambled, or to your preferred doneness. Season with salt and pepper. Repeat for the second egg.
  2. Prepare the Bread
    • Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich
    • Place one slice of bread (buttered side down) on a clean surface.
    • Layer with one slice of cheese, bacon, avocado slices or mash, and the cooked egg.
    • Top with another slice of cheese and the second bread slice (buttered side up). Repeat for the second sandwich.
  4. Air Fryer Cooking
    • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
    • Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket. Use a small oven-safe rack to press the sandwich down slightly (optional).
    • Cook for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve Immediately
    • Slice the sandwich in half and serve hot.
